Excellent book

I loved the recap its very useful to get a reminder of what had happened before. There is lots to keep track of so a recap very handy thank you.

As for this book it was a joy to read we get a bit of everything battle, world building some steady growth there are some nice moments of fun and humour too which keeps things interesting. I really liked the intrigue and plots as it shows the universe is a big and buy place where the main character has some power but is still a small fish in a big pond.

I liked the pace of the book there was progress but also time to relax yet I was never bored.

Stat sheets are minimal which is a bonus as too many can get repetitive and it pads out the audiobook which I am very much looking forward to.

I liked the minimal angst and doubt the main character deals with there is enough to make him seem human but not so much the story suffers.

I really liked getting insight into other characters and factions as the world created is a fascinating one.

The author deserves thanks for his good work and all the hard work put into the series, the next book being available soon is such a bonus.

This was a book that added nicely to the overall story and I look forward to the next. If you enjoyed the previous books you should love this one.

Slow/little action

This is a series I come to for loads of combat, some crafting, and some lore/politics. This entry did not mew my normal desires. While it is still written well and is generally interesting, there was so little action. 2 maybe 3 fights? Cool bit if alchemy/ritual stuff. The rest is all lore/politics.
I look forward to the next one in hopes of much more combat and ability improvement.

Spoilers below:
The book talks about going to Nevermore over and over again, but you only get to the city in the last 20 pages? With a location that is supposed to last 50 years it makes me wonder what will even happen or how many books we'll be in Nevermore.

I have read every book in the series so far, and it just keeps getting better. Epic battles, witty banter and multiple sexcapades (ok, not the last bit, but I was running out of descriptors).

Quick recap:

- Jake is our guy.
- The ultimate hunter who seems predestined to F'up a monsters day.
- He is practically the definition of OP.
- He has a patron god but, like everything else, Jake approaches this with his own unique style.
- Other factions are out to cause SNAFU for the home team. As the bird would say, they can all get, "Ree, Ree!!".
