This isn't my go-to reading genre but I thought I'd give the author a visit as I had a long journey ahead of me. Initially found the narrator hard to take but perseverance I is a useful tool!
The story was a joy to listen to with its heavy overtones of romance balanced with the developing independence and growing self confidence of the heroine.
Her character was well drawn and very credible, containing many easily recognised traits.
Her family was also easily recognised..
Her saviour, our hero, was perfection in so many ways and he leapt off the pages as a true romantic lead.
A little too given to organising everything however.
Lovely, warm bit of make believe with the prescribed happy ending.
