I love the Hawthorne books but this to me was not as good as the others. The sparring between the two men - author and detective was not as amusing as in the other books. It was very clever but I worked out the who and why quite easily - something I did not do with the others. Having said that it was Horowitz so worth the read but I do hope he gets the two working together again in the next book.
