I’ve never read any of Ms Valpy’s books before but I found The Dressmaker’s Gift a brilliant read. Some of it was very hard but it was never meant to be easy. The storyline was good and very moving in places. I think it shows humanity at its worst and humanity at its best. I shall be reading more of this author’s work.
