Hi, this book was well written and edited. I was born in 1955 with a cleft (hare) lip and palate and had numerous surgeries until the age of 21. The bullying I suffered over my life was huge. The pain in hospital is there in the book but in my day we weren't even allowed visitors for the first two weeks. It was the 'survival of the fittest' on those kids wards. I thought this book would help me come to terms with how life was for me as a young one but sadly it just reinforced my pain. If you just want a simple love story, it's a fair read.....although the guy involved is obviously high on the Autistic Spectrum and they don't know each other at all well. So, it's a case of one poorly person meeting another poorly/downspirited/lacking in confidence person and being 'in love' within five minutes. It hurt me to read it. It's a very lighthearted attempt at showing the world just how cruel life can be for those who aren't classed as 'normal'. So long as you don't suffer from any of the conditions I've mentioned above, perhaps you will find this a page turner. It's a light hearted novel. I have given it 4* because it's well written but - but - it's so far from the truth that it made me cry with frustration. I won't be reading another of her books in a hurry.
