Hooked from the start, I binge listened to books 1 & 2 over the space of one very long night. By accident I read Book 2 before this book and having become seriously invested in all the characters, I needed to know more. Not only what happened, but why and how and what would the family would do next. I love stories that can be read as standalone but have interconnected characters. In this case through the Sullivan family. Scott Schumaker did an awesome job narrating this book.
This was my first book by Melinda Leigh and I was definitely not disappointed, what an amazing Author. This fast Paced and thrilling Romantic Suspense book gripped me from the start and did not let me go even after Reed and Jayne found there HFN ending. There were too many questions I needed answers too.
A brilliant nail biting plot, great characters that made me laugh and cry and sexual tension between the main characters that you could cut with a knife what more could you ask for.
I can't say too much about the plot as I don't want to ruin the story for future readers. What I will say is that our heroes are very real, deeply flawed and loyal to a fault. They care deeply and are prepared to go to hell and back to protect those they love and in this series they have to.
Most definitely a page turner with a lot of twists and turns. Interesting family, Intriguing story, this book has something for everyone - thrilling suspense, violence, romance, mystery, a few steamy but not gratuitous moments (after all in real life sex does not take place behind closed doors) as well as a truly evil Villain or two.
A fascinating well written and very enjoyable book. I am so glad that it and the rest of the series were available to read and listen to for free with Kindle Unlimited or I might have missed this little gem. I will be buying the whole series to keep in my library. I thoroughly recommend this book to all adult readers, due to the content it is not suitable for younger readers.
